I think it’s really cool how Zexal has all these cameos of characters from the other series. There’s a fourth wall being broken here, and I get the feeling that the characters are cast members, being recast into cameo roles much like real life actors.
The implication that a “backstage area” exists in these animated shows is fun to think about. I bet Yugi, Paradox and Kaito share the same hairstylist. His designs are outrageous and terrifying, but nobody says anything because he’s been on the set since DM and has seniority.
When Yliaster’s white robes are ruined in the wash, they’re repurposed to the DM Egypt prop room. This is done to cut down on expenses, even though the DM priest cast complains liberally about “gross second-hand robes.”
Bruno avoids Daitokuji as much as possible. He constantly nags Bruno about having his kitten spayed, as Pharaoh is taking an interest in her as she gets older. Aporia goes bowling with Dr. Faker and Gozaburo on Thursday nights. What Gozaburo lacks in strength, he makes up for in technique.
On some weekends, Antinomy and Honda swap bikes, because Antinomy likes the vintage look. He borrows a cool leather jacket from the Oricalchos set and Marik’s goggles and rides around the city, reliving the glory days.

I recently learned that in the Chinese fandom, Kiryu is also known as “Chicken fingers.” Apparently, it’s because the Japanese pronunciation for Kiryu sounds a lot like 鸡柳, meaning Chicken fingers (or strips/tenders) in Chinese.

Recently, I read a series call Umineko. The writing leaves a lot to be desired,…… but it has nice shadows and elegantly illustrated clothes.

It’s “Placido and Antinomy, the buddy cop show”. A streetwise veteran with a mysterious past and a double identity is partnered with a misanthropic, trigger-happy young sergeant.
What unspeakable horrors will the seedy underbelly of satellite hold for our brave heroes?

A friend of mine drew a picture where Yusei and Placido swapped clothes. I responded that If they switched places, then Placido would be both Yusei, and the Yusei-go (Yusei’s motorcycle.)
It’d be interesting to see a situation where they were forced into begrudging co-operation by circumstance, diametrically opposed decks and all.
Yusei could really stand to learn, that not all of life’s problems can be solved by “Synchro Summon!”, and Placido can come away with the understanding that maybe humans aren’t all that bad.
